Steve is also a qualified trainer & assessor in the AUR05 Automotive Industry Retail, Service and Repair Training Package. He provides consultation to engineering and automotive industries. Steve has been working in these industries for over 30years and has extensive experience in trade training and assessment. During the last 5 years Steve has concentrated on training and development activities with a particular emphasis on offering Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) services. His professional qualifications include Trade Certification, Safety Certificate endorsement, Vehicle Modification Authorisations through Queensland Transport, Certivficate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, National Reporting System Workplace Assessor, and Facilitator for Covey 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Steve is a current member of the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers.

AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology
The program aim is to assist Mechanics and Trade Assistants who have extensive experience working in the automotive industry gain formal recognition for their existing knowledge and skills. The program is Competency Based requiring participants to provide evidence of applying knowledge and skill to a standard required in the workplace.
Upon completion of a training program, participants will be able to:
- Gain formal recognition for successfully completing units from the AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology
- Improve maintenance and servicing operations within the workplace
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers
- Improve understanding of OH&S procedures
- Contribute to quality improvements in your workplace.
What is Recognised Prior Learning?
The program is offered as standalone units or as part of a complete qualification. The participant will be required to complete an evidence portfolio which collects workplace sign offs and samples of documents to show the participants understanding, knowledge and application of each of the unit competencies.
